Pit walked a short ways down the path before stopping. He turned his head to the side and spoke to Soren and Ike. “The storms should clear up now. That thing was sent to keep the weather like that.” He turned back to the path and continued down it.

Ike rubbed his head. “You know, I’m starting to wonder if he’s exactly a normal angel.” Soren snorted. “As in, wondering if he’s an angel at all?” Ike frowned. “No, more like… if he’s loyal…”

Pit slowed as he walked, listening to them talk. He frowned too. That was a question he’d rather not ask of himself right now, if ever. What he did know was that the threat of the Serpent had passed. Now, there were worse things to come. More powerful. More dangerous. His mission was not going to be easy.

Pit wondered whether he could trust Ike and Soren… He laughed, it didn’t matter. There would come a point when he would have to tell them regardless. He wondered how many other heroes he could recruit to his cause… not many, he decided, if he didn’t tell them what his cause was.

Ike and Soren started to walk behind pit, keeping their distance. To be able to deal with a monster like that, and on your own, was an impressive feat and one that demanded both respect and some level of fear. Ike’s mind was a blank. He didn’t know who Pit was or what he could do. Soren’s was racing. He suspected what pit might do and who he might be. In many ways, Ike and Soren were very different people.

They trudged along behind him, and even as they walked the skies cleared. It seemed that they had run through the night, but so far none of them were fatigued. Both Ike and Soren knew, however, that once they stopped walking they would instantly need to rest.

Along they trudged.

Slowly, the scent of the sea came towards them on the air. It made Ike’s heart soar to smell it again, and he lengthened his strides and swung his arms despite the two packs he was carrying. He was happy, despite all that had happened in recent hours. Soren walked beside and behind him, growing darker with each step. To him, they were merely walking closer and closer to the source of the problems, and that was not a good thought.

The pale light of dawn was over everything, and with it came the feeling of a new day, washing away the old. It smiled to have the light on his face, warming him throughout. Palutena was still shining from above, and that was an encouraging thought.

They slowly walked out from the forest, which in the daylight had become less intimidating than it had been. From the forest they passed into a meadow which was green and covered in flowers. The scents made Ike smile and Pit walk more confidently but made Soren’s nose run.

Soren hadn’t had a very flower-filled life.

He stepped up to where Ike was walking and waked close to him. With Ike, he always felt more able. He sighed through his thick sinuses. Ike noticed him and gave him a look. Soren shrugged. It wasn’t easy, having hay fever.

Pit, walking out in front, could finally see the sea. He smirked slightly, and remembered how it once made him feel. It used to be a sight to look forward to, but that was before the gods’ actions. He sighed and shook his head. It was still the same sea, still blue and foaming as ever.

He remembered the sights he had seen on it, the things he himself had done. A few years back, when the Triforce had been used, he first met Medli. Back then she was young, barely nine years old. He had been the messenger from the heavens, and asked her all she knew about the Triforce and the Master Sword. She had told him, and that had been that. He had flown back to angel land and Palutena with the information she had wanted.

Then, a few years after the Bellum incident, he had been called back to make sure the seal on the Master sword had kept Ganondorf silent, and that Bellum had not in any way been linked to him. It had been proven that they were separate, and Medli, who was now fourteen, had spoken to him once more.

All had been silent on the great sea for a long while. Then, four years ago, in the first year of Pit’s time off and when Medli was seventeen, he had visited Gallia. It had been the first time he had done so, and the first thing he had found was Medli’s Shack. They had spoken for a long time, Pit staying there for a week, then two, then a month.

After half a year, they had finally kissed. It was one of the most unexpected things in pit’s life, but he found he enjoyed it. Then, cruelly, Pit had had to leave. Pit closed his eyes, trying not to remember what happened next.

It had been dark. There had been no post for weeks. All communication with Gallia had completely ceased… Pit stopped thinking. It was easier to think of nothing than try to think of anything else.

They were a mere two hundred meters from the sea. Ike and Soren walked up to Pit and flanked him as the sun shined down on them from high above, cutting through the mist like a knife.

Ike smiled. “We’re here.” He chuckled to himself slightly… “Now what?”

Soren was about to say something when a shape caught his eye. “…Ike?” He asked, pushing him around to look at the shape. “I think… I think someone’s run aground.”
Page 13. UNLUCKY FOR SOME???? :icongwahplz:

good luck, lol XD

okay, just a little more exposition here, explaining a little about how Pit and Medli came to know each other, through might I say was a rather excellent combination of all three worlds. ;)

Right, I think it's time for a new character. Who wants one?

*rubs ma hands together*
